Today, LuK sites in Germany, Brazil, the USA and, in the UK, at LuK Leamington, form LuK-ASG, a research and development division specialising in the design of innovative transmission solutions for the automotive marketplace. The division of around 250 employees, co-operating across the four international sites is a world leader in its field.

LuK Leamington is based on the outskirts of Royal Leamington Spa and is in the picturesque county of Warwickshire with its tourist attractions of Stratford upon Avon and Warwick. It is well served by the motorway network and is a few miles from the cities of Coventry and Birmingham (with its International Airport).

The origin of LuK Leamington can be traced back to the acquisition by the LuK Group of Kongsberg TechMatic (UK) Limited in 1998. Kongsberg TechMatic, including a site in Norway, helped pioneer hydraulically actuated automatic clutch systems. The multi-million pound investment by LuK in Kongsberg TechMatic strengthened the LuK-ASG division with additional skills and expertise necessary to satisfy growing customer demand in this technically challenging area.

With a £2m investment program, LuK Leamington was transformed with the construction of a new purpose built engineering facility in 1999. Over 18000 sq. ft and spread over three floors, it offers a truly superb working environment and is fully equipped with the latest technology to enable engineers to produce work of the highest quality and ingenuity. The building has two floors of design offices complemented by its own garaging facilities, extensive test laboratories and workshops. A broad range of prototype vehicles are available giving engineers the opportunity to develop from concept through to full production. The site is fully accredited to QS9000.

LuK-ASG products are already in mass production for such companies as Opel, Daimler-Chrysler and Toyota and we are fully committed to developing products not just for today but also for the years ahead.
